General Description of College:
Beechwood College currently caters for 38 students aged 16-25 with Autistic Spectrum Disorders or Asperger's Syndrome. Providing a highly staffed, specialised day and residential provision, Beechwood has been designed to offer flexibility to students, facilitating their personal growth and development in a structured learning and therapeutic environment based on the philosophies related to PECS and TEACCH.
The Curriculum:
Beechwood provides access to a range of nationally recognised qualifications and accredited courses in independent living skills, vocational training and social and leisure development opportunities. These opportunities are developed through a number of specialist subject areas.

Students can select from various relevant accredited courses at pre-entry and entry level, as well as courses offered at local mainstream colleges (where applicable). Off site community based learning plays a vital role.
