General Description of College:
Nash College, part of Livability, has pleasant, wooded grounds and is situated near the outskirts of Bromley, Kent. Day and residential provision is available for 65 learners from 19 – 25. Residential learners live in single rooms on the college campus or in specially adapted flats. Our specialist multi-disciplinary team provides individually planned and supported learning programmes for learners who have severe, complex or profound learning needs and/or disabilities, a high proportion of whom have communication difficulties.
The Curriculum:
The curriculum is designed to provide meaningful learning opportunities for every learner in the college and residential areas. The individualised timetable/programme offer is based on the identified needs of the learner and their own wishes and interests.
Specialist Facilities:
We aim to provide programmes to improve the quality of life and build on the strengths of individual learners with complex learning difficulties, communication disorders, sensory impairment and/or physical disabilities within the college, community and work related learning opportunities.
Young people develop social communication through specialist approaches and multi-sensory experiences, minimise their dependence and build on their interests and abilities to become active members of the community. A multi-disciplinary holistic approach to learning through living is promoted throughout learners' programmes.
