General Description of College:
Eagle Life College is a specialist care home and college for Young Adults aged 19-28 years with Autistic Spectrum Disorders and moderate to severe learning difficulties. Our young people may have experienced barriers to their learning and social inclusion due to the complexity of their autism often resulting in challenging behaviour.
The Curriculum:
Throughout the waking day students learn by doing and so their experience of living and learning is seamless. Students undertake practical vocational skills and our learning facilitators work both within the college learning centre and in the residential care setting. The Eagle House core curriculum provides a unique learning and social programme that is communication based, visual and sensory based, practical and intrinsically motivating. Each student has an individualised learning plan that ensures they have a purposeful day focused on independence, success and achievement.
Specialist Facilities:
The College shares a 30 acre parkland site with adjoining Eagle House School. The multi-functional learning centre provides autism focused learning environment for both individual and group working. Facilities include classrooms, ICT areas, leisure and common rooms and excellent outdoor facilities. The residential care homes are homely and welcoming with spacious living and bedroom facilities, quiet rooms for relaxation and a large art/leisure studio.
