There are extensive domestic-style facilities for all learners to develop daily living skills and off-campus houses for learners to develop independent living skills. Aladkins (e-Bay) and Barrow of Treats (traditional-style sweetshop and tea room) provide excellent opportunities for learners to work with the public.

The Curriculum:
The college specialises in real, practical experiences to support learning. These include office skills, catering, maintenance, horticulture, e-Bay enterprise, community–based café/sweetshop and external work experience placements. Extensive use is made of the local towns in bus- and train-travel, shopping, using banks, libraries, post offices, leisure centres and cinemas as well as visiting various places of interest. The daily living and independent living facilities in the residences provide real and practical opportunities to develop essential living skills. The development of reading, writing, use of numbers and communication are integrated into practical experiences throughout the curriculum.
