General Description of College:
We work with students with complex physical disabilities, acquired brain injuries and associated difficulties who want to take more control over their future lives and achieve their long term goals. We offer full time residential (including short term) and day places, and part time adult education and work preparation programmes
Our college is a vibrant, active environment - students have a wide range of abilities, come to us from varied social and ethnic backgrounds and participate in a range of community activities.
The Curriculum:
Individualised programmes include subject skills, personal development, therapy, health and well being, independent living skills, work skills, functional skills (communication, literacy, numeracy and ICT) and social learning opportunities. All students gain specialist information, advice and transition support.
Learning areas include Creative and Performing Arts, Multi Media, Administration and IT, Customer Services, Health and Community Programmes, Sport, Leisure and Recreation.
Specialist Facilities:
We have outstanding multi-disciplinary support, enabling technology expertise and purpose-built learning facilities and residential accommodation, on campus and in the community, plus swimming / hydrotherapy pool, fitness suite, gym, theatre, dance studio, Information and enabling technology venues, relaxation and multi sensory rooms, therapy suites, medical centre, shop and catering venues.
