General Description of College:
Aspin House is a residential specialist college for young people aged 14 - 19 years with high functioning autism or aspergers syndrome.
Located in a large house in a residential street in Southampton, the college is registered under Hope Lodge School and offers ten placements, eight of which are residential. The unit is managed by a team of skilled professionals, all have special needs experience in the field of autism combined with relevant training in care practices or teacher/instructor qualifications.
Aspin House has strong links with local sector colleges, work experience placements and training providers. Adult support is offered to help develop self-help and independence skills, with opportunity for students to gain qualifications to support future education and, where appropriate employment.
The unit offers a one - three year flexible programme differentiated to students individual needs. Development of appropriate behaviour, consideration, concern and respect for others are very highly valued within Aspin House.

Behaviour Support Team available, Offsite sensory room, Experienced and Qualified staff, Work Experience placements offered, Offsite activities and courses provided, vocational courses offered off site, well located for sports activities and town and near good public transport links for travel, discrete residential setting, home like environment, approved centre for OCR, excellent college links for further education.
