General Description of College:
Foxes Academy is an Ofsted outstanding residential college for young people with learning difficulties. Founded in 1996 we operate a ‘real-life working hotel’ which provides unique vocational training in catering & hospitality and an extensive life skills programme which continues in our residential houses. Our ‘Learner Council’ promotes learner participation in issues that affect them. We welcome applications from all over the country and from different ethnic backgrounds. We have excellent results with high levels of both employment and independent/supported living achieved.
The Curriculum:
Learners work towards City & Guilds Qualifications in Literacy, Numeracy, ICT and the English Speaking Board. Communication Skills, National Vocational Qualifications: Level 1 in Hospitality & Catering. We deliver entry qualifications in Personal Progress and Awards & Certificates in Personal & Social Development and Employability & Personal Development incorporating an extensive life skills and employment programme. Every learner has an Individual Learning Plan which is based on an initial assessment and reviewed every 6 weeks to ensure ongoing progress.
