General Description of College:
MacIntyre Womaston School is a vibrant, warm residential school for experiential learning and development, situated in 20 acres of beautiful woodland on the border of Herefordshire and Powys. It is rated 'Good' by ESTYN, the education inspection body for Wales. We believe that an integrated and positive approach is needed to in order to develop communication and increased independence.
The Curriculum:
At Womaston School, we take account of each student’s needs, skill levels and interests and then develop Individual Learning Plans. Working with integrated education and care teams to maximise consistency and trust, students experience planning, delivery and support which is underpinned by our person centred philosophy. They learn a variety of essential skills, which support the main curriculum areas at Womaston School; Daily living skills Practical and vocational Personal, social and health education Community and leisure
Specialist Facilities:
In addition to a new, multi-purpose sports hall, ICT and art facilities, Womaston School’s extensive grounds are very much part of the learning environment and are used to good effect in promoting the personal and social development of students. Also available on-site are speech and language and occupational therapy services.
