General Description of College:
The NCYPE Further Education College offers learning programmes for young people aged 16-25 with complex epilepsy and other neurological conditions. Day and residential places are offered to young people with learning disabilities on our 60 acre campus in Surrey with good access to local amenities.
The Curriculum:
The college curriculum offers a range of accredited and non-accredited learning opportunities via a programme of educational courses, including subject areas such as: creative arts; land based industries – farm and horticulture; design & technology; business administration; personal & social development; functional skills (Maths, English and ICT) and work based learning. The NCYPE has strong links with local mainstream colleges and local employers, where students are able to access additional learning opportunities and work experience placements. The development of independence and social skills is promoted through the 24 hour curriculum, across campus and within the wider community. On-site education, care, medical and therapy teams work together with a person centred approach to meeting the needs of individual learners, which are continually monitored and reviewed to maximise opportunities for our learners.
