General Description of College:
William Morris House is a member of the Association of Camphill Communities, set in a quiet but accessible location near Stroud in Gloucestershire. William Morris House supports a holistic approach, which recognises and respects the integrity of every human being. We work to educate, train, guide and support learners to gain life-skills, develop self-knowledge, and further their communication and social skills and thus develop their potential for further growth.
The Curriculum:
Individual learning programmes are tailored to each student’s needs and aspirations. The students are provided with an educational programme incorporating college, craft workshop and community based learning environments where functional and vocational skills are embedded into the curriculum. Vocational and self-help skills are taught within a home setting to ensure appropriate transference of skills. Accreditation is provided by access to nationally recognised courses to celebrate achievement and provide recognition of targets achieved. Work experience opportunities are developed to ensure a realistic access to work is provided within a secure and familiar setting.
Specialist Facilities:
A comprehensive range of group and individual therapies are offered to students including Speech and Language Therapy. The campus has well-equipped residential accommodation, classrooms and specialist workshops set within pleasant, well maintained grounds.
